'Orange' making waves in Melbroune - JustTollywood.com News

Ram Charan Tej-starrer Orange is in news for a different reason. In Australia, to shoot for a 14-week schedule, the film is being used by a Minister and others in Melbroune, to send out a message to Indians that their country was no racist and anti-India "as perceived" here. One Anupam Sharma, who is said to be the Australian-based line producer of Orange, said that the producer (Naga Babu) "wanted to come here and prove a point - that what is being told in India is totally against what is happening here.''

Education Minister Bronwyn Pike made it a point to visit the set of the film on Thursday, who said, "I am just delighted to be hearing a different message from the producers, the director and the stars. They see that they have a responsibility to turn that message around,'' emphasising that the impression that Melbroune was not a safe and welcoming city was not true.

The big news is that it is perhaps the first time that an effort has been made by Australia to spread a message to India, and this has been done with the help of a Telugu film, which they feel has "a potential audience of about 300 million people."

Why Raja might have been right.. - JustTollywood.com News

Actor Raja, anguished at the neglection small films like his own Inkosari suffer, stated that the monopoly of a few big players was spelling doom for minor movies. He took an extreme decision by attempting to commit suicide, a few weeks back, two days after the release of the much-delayed Inkosari. It looks like his contention has some truth about it.

Look at the way films like Prasthanam and Andari Banduvaya have been seeing delay in their release for months. The films were originally slated for release in December and January, but have not seen the light of the day ever since. Though they are directed by Deva Katta (Vennela) and Chandra Siddhartha (Aa Naluguru), nothing has helped avert a crisis with regards to the release date for them.

Is it because of lack of theatres to screen such movies that don't boast of star presence or "commercial elements" that they have seen undue delay in release? The films, touted to be coming with sensible messages, have only got bad treatment. We could say that monopoly is unhealthy anywhere. Come summer, the hundreds of theatres in the state will be blocked for wild cards.
