So when are you directing, Rana? - JustTollywood.com News

Not many know that Daggubati Rana's biggest wish is to direct movies. Many years back, in a TV interview, his grand father D Ramanaidu revealed the desire of his grand son Rana. We never heard back from either Rana's grand father or his father Suresh. The lad started an animation company and even worked for some films like Parugu in the meanwhile. But he was always behind the limelight and never yearned for media attention.
Everything changed for him when he was signed by Shekhar Kammula for his concept Leader. Long time associate Shekhar found Rana apt for the role and it was how the media-shy Rana burst open. Since, he has given some interviews in the media; but he says that he will be seen more once Leader hits the marquee (the film is releasing on December 24 and will clash with titans like Adurs and Rummy).
If the film becomes a hit, will Rana want to be seen more as an actor or will he want to turn director? Or, will he continue with acting like Siddhartha, who also ambitions direction, until time warrants him to direct?

RGV on why Raktha Charitra is going to be a milestone in his career - JustTollywood.com News

Ram Gopal Varma's blood-soaked saga of Raktha Charitra's, based on the life of Paritala Ravi, a TDP politico and naxalite at one point of his life, is creating waves even before its release. Least did we imagine that RGV views it as the most significant project of his life! (It's not Ram) The maverick, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, thought it fit to alter the way he makes films and understands life, with Raktha Charitra. A legend that has blood on it, RC is the perfect subject for this exciting talent to reinvent himself.
And we believe that his resuscitation is imminent. In a letter to the media, he explained what went behind composing the script of Raktha.. . "I became a journalist. I became a detective. I became a psychologist," he writes. In his drive to hear the "narratives and experiences" of the former acolytes of Paritala and his beet noire Suri (who is alleged to have conspired the former's assassination and who is currently incarcerated), he was able to detachedly take stock of the real motives and factors behind events that happened in Ravi's life.
To the question whether Raktha... is a real story, RGV says yes. RGV sensationally claims that the film is going to redefine not just his career, but is going to bring newness to his life. The kind of research he has undertaken, which helped him gain a definite perspective of many issues, for this movie, has altered his ideas.
Raktha Charitra will also be special, according to Varma, for coming up with detailed characters that are caught in the torrent because of the people they meet, the events that behold them and the situations they are buffeted by. It's going to be refreshing, because of its subject matter and premise, is what RGV believes and proclaims. We will, he predicts, start talking about pre-Raktha RGV and post-Raktha RGV.

Actress-director cum-activist Nandita Das found fault with Dasari Narayana Rao's lamentations regarding the "apathy" displayed by Children's Film Society of India. Dasari had, during the inaugural ceremony of the Children's Film Festival, like a soapbox orator, criticized the Society for not setting up an office in Hyderabad though a land has been cut out for it.
Not categorically taking snipes at the Dasari speech, Nandita only said that changes have been made by the Society in the past 8 months. "What he commented was wrong... I tried to explain the same to him," Nandita told media persons yesterday.
She also made her displeasure known about highlighting the gaffes in the Festival, advising the media to write about good aspects of the fest.
