Yes! You read it right, if sources are to be believed Superstar Krishna is in plans to direct a new film with his son Prince Mahesh Babu. Speaking on this Krishna said, “Mahesh has developed a unique style and a huge fan base with his films. I’m looking for a perfect script to wield the megaphone for Mahesh’s film. I hope it will materialize soon.”

As of now, Mahesh is busy with Dookudu in Srinu Vytla’s direction that is gearing up for release shortly. Later to this, Mahesh has also signed a film The Business Man with Puri Jagannath as director, which has heroine Kajal Agarwal. More details on Krishna-Mahesh’s project soon. A superstar directing another Superstar… Isn’t it interesting folks???

Successful director Rajamouli’s next project Eega has wrapped up the present schedule in Ramanaidu Studios on Wednesday and as per the latest reports the next schedule of the film commences from 6th June i.e. Monday. Nani and Samantha are playing the lead roles in the film while Sudeep will be seen as an antagonist.

Eega is being made with a budget of 22 crores and Rajamouli has allocated 5 crores budget to the visual effects of the film. The film’s shoot is progressing at slow pace since it is being shot in Blue Mat. Korrapati Sai is producing the film while Suresh Babu is presenting it. Senthil is cranking the camera for this visual extravaganza.

Srikanth has now pinned all hopes on his next flick Virodhi taking shape in the hands of National Award winner Neelakanta. Virodhi is a political thriller being produced by Srikanth’s brother Anil. Kamalinee Mukherjee has played the female lead in the film. Currently, the post-production works of the film are under progress. Meanwhile, the film-makers have unveiled the posters and trailers of Virodhi that are earning positive buzz. Virodhi is slated for a release on 1st July. Let’s wait to see if Virodhi clicks at the ticket windows and brings back the luck to Srikanth.

Rajinikanth’s not simply called as the biggest superstar in the country. In terms of remuneration he stands second in Asia after Jackie Chan and his recently started project Rana proved it. Reportedly the superstar, who is currently recovering in Mount Elizabeth hospital at Singapore, has been paid a whopping amount of Rs 24 Crores for Rana. This comes after his last film Robot that ended up as a block buster hit through out the country.

Apart from Rajini being paid such a big amount, his family will have a stake in the project as Soundarya (Rajini’s younger daughter) is the co-producer of Rana.Rana, a period drama sees the Superstar essaying three different roles. Deepika Padukone is confirmed as one of the leads opposite Rajini. Meanwhile Rajini’s wife Latha and son-in-law Dhanush said that the actor will be back to India within ten days as he is doing well in the hospital.

Mani Ratnam was born as Gopala Ratnam Subramaniam Iyer on June 2, 1956 to a Tamil Brahmin family in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He did his MBA and worked as management consultant before entering into the industry. It was his brother and producer Venkateswaran who introduced him to the film industry. He worked with top class technicians in India to gain the required experience. It was in the year 1983 he made his directorial debut with a Kannada film Pallavi Anu Pallavi, starring Anil Kapoor. But his first commercial success happened with the film Mouna Raagam in 1986.

He directed films in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. He is particularly known for his eye for technical detail in the art of film making, He often makes movies inspired by real-life events & famous epics. Mani is widely recognized for directing the critically acclaimed films Mouna Raagam, Nayakudu, Anjali, Iddharu, Geethanjali, Yuva, Roja, Bombay, Dil Se and many more. It can be noted here that the movies he had directed had musical scores by only Ilaiyaraja & A.R.Rahman till date. He was awarded with several National Film Awards, Film fare Awards and International film awards for his excellence in the field of direction. Ilayaraja was born as Gnanadesikan on June 2, 1943 to Daniel Ramaswamy and Chinna Tayammal of Pannaipuram in Teni district of Tamil Nadu. He started his career with a cultural troupe of Communist Party of India. But for the first time he composed the music at the age of 14 for script written by Tamil writer Kannadasan on the first Prime Minister of India. It was in the year 1976 he turned as a full fledged music composer for the film Annakkili (Ramachiluka in Telugu). Right from that day there is no look back for him in his musical journey. He enthralled the music lovers of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.


The Tamil Nadu government felicitated Ilayaraja with 'Kalaimamani' award, while he was awarded with honorary doctorates by Annamalai University, Andhra Pradesh government, Kerala government, Madhya Pradesh government and Arizona of the US.Ilayaraja has composed over 4500 songs and provided film scores for more than 900 movies in a career spanning almost 30 years. He has received the prestigious Padma Bhushan and won the National Film Award thrice.Today, both of his sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja are noted music directors in the industry.

Director Bala’s next film Avan Ivan is being dubbed as Vaadu Veedu in Telugu and the audio was launched formally on 1st June in Hyderabad. The cast and crew of Vaadu Veedu, director Bala, producer Vikram Krishna actors Vishal, Arya, Madhu Shalini, Janani Iyer and Chandra Bose, Wilson, Shashank Vennelakanti attended the audio launch. Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Victory Venkatesh, who attended the event as chief guests launched the logo and CD. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for the film.

The film’s cast and crew hoped that the film will become success in both Telugu and Tamil versions. Venkatesh confessed that Bala is a wonderful director and he would love to work with Bala if the director makes a script for him. Allu Arjun said Bala’s dubbed films were appreciated by the Telugu audience and hoped he directs a straight Telugu flick soon. Vaadu Veedu is expected to hit the screens in the third week of June.

It is well aware that Vamsi, who gave several hit films earlier, started his second innings with Raviteja’s film ‘Avunu… Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru’. That film was a runaway hit and earned good name for both the director and the hero. However, Vamsi again fell flat as some of his films which he had directed failed to make it to Box Office. Again, Vamsi had planned to do a film with his lucky mascot Raviteja to resurrect his sagging image.

He prepared a storyline and narrated it to Raviteja and he reportedly okayed it. However, it is not clearly known whether the film would be a sequel to Ladies Tailor or not. Because there was a gossip long ago that Vamsi is planning to do ‘Fashion Designer’ which would be a sequel to ‘Ladies Tailor’. Let us wait and watch for an official confirmation. Presently Raviteja is busy with ‘Nippu’ directed by Gunasekhar and produced by YVS Choudary on the banner of Bommarillu.

King Nagarjuna’s undershoot film Rajanna will commence its new schedule in Araku from 13th June. A song will be canned in the latest schedule. Major part of the film’s shoot was earlier completed in a specially erected set in Annapurna Studios. Nagarjuna is playing the title role of the film. Rajanna is a period film set in 1940’s and is based on Razakar Movement. As per the sources reports, the story is said to be revolving around a 11 year old girl’s role. Sneha is playing the leading lady in the film.

Vijayendra Prasad (Rajamouli’s father) is wielding the megaphone for the film while Nagarjuna himself is producing it on the banner Annapurna Studios. Mani Sharma is composing the music.

'O My Friend' completes 50% shoot

Southern Stud Siddarth’s undershoot film O My Friend is likely to hit the big-screens for Dussera. The current schedule of the film’s shoot is taking place in Hyderabad and it is learnt that 50% of the shooting part has already been wrapped up.

                                Shruti Haasan and Hansika are playing the leading ladies in the movie. Venu Sriram is marking his entry as a director in Tollywood with O My Friend and Dil Raju is producing it on the banner Sri Venkateshwara Creations. This is the second film in Siddharth, Dil Raju’s combination, first one being the super hit film Bommarillu.Rahul Raj, a debutant is composing the music while Vijay C Chakravarthy is cranking the camera for the film.
