'Robo' censored Countdown starts - JustTollywood.com News



This year's much awaited film, the Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Robo', has been cleared with a clean ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board. In other words, it means there is no restriction for any age group to watch the mega budget film directed by Shankar and the movie is for complete family viewing.

Sources say the Censor Board officials, who watched the film on Wednesday, were impressed by it very much and appreciated the team for their hardwork to bring out a quality product.

Produced by Sun Pictures in a 'never before budget', 'Robo' which has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opposite Rajini, has two Oscar-winners working in it. One is A R Rahman, who has composed music and the other is Resul Pookutty, who has taken care of sound effects.

On the film and his role, Rajinikanth, the numero uno actor of Tamil cinema says, "It was a very tough character to play and a very challenging role. We have enjoyed the film. I am sure that the audience will also find it interesting. I am guaranteeing it." The film is expected to hit the screen on September 30.

'Rakta Charitra' team gives finishing touch to the film - JustTollywood.com News



Enclosure of all eyes, Ram Gopal Varma’s much talked ‘Rakta Charitra’, is still waiting for a confirmed release date. Reason being that - the film was on the polishing table and recently the team said to have made things perfect.

Ya, although they had wrapped up the shooting of the film long back, sources said that some patchwork was remaining. Only few days ago, the cast including Vivek Oberoi and Shatrughan Sinha finished the leftover shooting.

Based on real-life controversial character Paritala Ravi, ‘Rakta Charitra’ is one-of-its-kind film which will be released in two parts. While the first version will reflect the rise of Paritala Ravi the second one will show his doom.

'Thakita Thakita' celebrated Platinum disc event! - JustTollywood.com News



Actress as well as producer Bhumika’s new flick ‘Thakita Thakita’ was released recently. The movie is directed by Srihari Nanu and produced by Bharat Thakur under the ‘Downtown Films’ banner. The latest news is that the entire unit has celebrated the platinum disc function at Hotel Dasapalla in Hyderabad.The event was attended by Bhumika, Bharath Thakur, Sri Hari Nanu, Bhaskarbatla Ravi Kumar, Senthil Kumar, Harsha, Bekkam Venugopal and others.

The director of the film said, “Music proved to be the lifeline of our film. Bobo Sasi came out with excellent tunes, which enthralled a cross section of the audiences. I am happy to be receiving this platinum disc.”

The music album distributor Sridhar Reddy said, “The film tasted success even before its release and it was because of its music. A number of youth preferred to make the tunes of the film as collar tunes. I am extremely happy to be the distributor of this album. I am thankful to Bhumika and Barath Thakur.”

Cinematographer Senthil said, “This film is like a journey. I personally find that the theaters are slowly getting packed with the youthful audiences. The major plus point of the film is that it has fresh faces. Bobo Sasi’s music is really superb. I wish that the film would become a classic in the course of time and would even set a trend in the industry.”

Completes dubbing for 'Golconda High School' - JustTollywood.com News



Sumanth, Swathi’s new flick under the direction of Mohana Krishna
which has been tentatively titled as ‘Golconda High School completes its dubbing part recently and the makers are planning to release the film in this month by finishing other patch up works as soon as possible. Mohana Krishna Indraganti had earlier directed ‘Ashta Chemma’ film with Nani and Swathi in the lead roles.

This new film with Sumanth and Swathi is said to be inspired from a book ‘The Men Within’ which was written by Hari Mohan. The book is first Indian novel on cricket.

I'm the first Telugu film maker to win Phalke award in 20 years - JustTollywood.com News



D Ramanaidu, who has produced over 130 films in 12 languages, is quite thrilled at having won the Dadasaheb Phalke award, the highest honour in Indian cinema. But he says there are no fullstops in his career and that he is right now producing a Punjabi movie.

“I’m the first Telugu filmmaker to win the Dadasaheb (Phalke award) in 20 years. So when I heard about it, I was naturally elated. But there are no fullstops in my career. I’ve produced over 130 films in 12 languages. Now I’m producing a film in Punjabi for the first time,” said the 75-year-old doyen of Telugu cinema Ramanaidu, who started producing films in 1963, is realistic enough to see how much the film market has slumped. He admits he hasn’t produced a film in Hindi for quite a while because of the slump.

“Earlier I used to remake my Telugu hits into Hindi. But none of my Telugu films have done well recently. I’ve recently been busy producing Gujarati and Bhojpuri films. But now I will definitely produce another Hindi film very soon,” he said.Ramanaidu says he keeps up with changing trends in world cinema through his children.

“My son and now my grandsons have joined me. We are a family completely consumed by cinema. We virtually live for cinema. I’ve been witness to many changing trends in movie-making. Our production house keeps abreast of these changes.” This diehard filmmaker has no plans to quit filmmaking. “I’ll never retire. If I don’t make movies, I wouldn’t know what to do,” he said.

Nandamuri Balakrishna who is busy with the shooting of ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ directed by Dasari has signed up a new film under the direction of Paruchuri Murali and the film was launched some days and will have its regular shooting from September 24th. Special sets are being erected at Ramoji Film City for the shooting.The latest news is that good looking actress Bhumika is going to pair up with Balakrishna for the first time in this film.

The movie will be produced by ML Kumar Chowdary & Kalyan malik will be scoring the music while Vijay C Kumar handles cinematography. Now the latest news is that the title ‘Adinayakudu’ is under consideration for the film and final confirmation is yet to be made. The makers are planning to release the film by March 2011.

'Brindaavanam' completes shooting! - JustTollywood.com News


Young tiger NTR’s latest forthcoming flick ‘Brindaavanam’ has completed its entire shooting part with the completion of some left over patch work and also few scenes involving the lead pair by yesterday.

2 National Awards for 'Magadheera' - JustTollywood.com News



The 57th National Awards for the year 2009 were announced. Though Telugu Movies didn’t win awards for the Best Movie categories, SS Rajamoulis ‘Magadheera’ received two awards.

‘Magadheera’ won two awards, namely, Best Special Effects and Best Choreography. K.Sivashankar won the Best Choreography Award for his moves in ‘Dheera Dheera' song and Kamal Kannan won the Best Special Effects for his creative services in the movie.

‘Magadheera’ has been winning acclaim and awards for sometime now. The movie grabbed quite a few in Filmfare and other other awards. Director Rajamouli would be a pleased man, as his movie brought Telugu cinema to limelight this year but he is disappointed with cinematographer Senthil not receiving an award.

Telugu Cinema receiving the National Award for Best Special Effects is not new. Sanath of Fire Fly Digital won the award for ‘Anji’ in 2005. Let’s hope a Telugu movie receives a National Award for Best Movie next year or in the near future!

There were reports that ‘Robo’ will release on September 24th but sources now say that the movie will come to the screens worldwide on September 30th. And there are rumours in the air that the movie might release on October 1st. However there’s no official confirmation of the release date.
