Ajith makes a point - JustTollywood.com News

At the felicitation ceremony of Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi, actor Ajith made a plea to some industry elders to not try to impose their dictum on every artiste and technician saying that participation in the agitations or dharnas undertaken by them over issues like that of the Carvery is compulsory.
He said that compulsion cannot be imposed on every one and that it was unbecoming of some elders to threaten to impose a ban if someone did not participate in the agitations. He used the occasion to urge the CM to make a statement that those who did not like to take part in such agitations should not be compelled to do. The actor got a pat on his back by no less a star than Rajinikanth himself for his sound opinion on the issue.
Later, Karunanidhi endorsed his statements when he said that compulsion cannot be imposed to partake in political events or movements. The context is relevant in the case of Tollywood too, where one veteran actor wants the industry to have a political opinion on the statehood issue.

Naani's remarks condemned - JustTollywood.com News

The AP Film Chambers of Commerce has unequivocally condemned the remarks made by Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Naani) against some leaders of the Telangana movement. Following the politician-film producer's Sunday comments, his film Adurs' screening has been halted in 7 districts of the region. Fearing a back last against Tollywood yet again, the industry representatives made it clear that they were his personal opinions and the industry was not responsible for them.
D Suresh Babu strongly said that reckless comments should not be made using the freedom to transgress (the line laid by the industry). He also urged that no one should make statements that affected Tollywood. At a time when the dust was settling down, Suresh opined, a controversy like this was unfortunate.
Film Employees Federation's Rajeshwara Reddy expressed anguish that the remarks made by producers of the ilk of Naani, who made films once in two years, was affecting the livelihood of over 10,000 cine workers. Some expressed concern that the efforts of the biggies in the past 2 months have been undone by Naani's latest outbursts.
