Saloni of 'Maryada Ramanna'fame played the title role in 'Telugammayi' directed by Raja Vannem Reddy, presented by Chegondi Hari Rama Jogaiah and Karatam Rambabu and produced by Vanapalli Babu Rao on the banner of Vaishnavi Movies. Sai Kumar played a key role while Vikram, Yashwanth, Harsha, Saichand played the heroes in the film.

The film had completed its shooting and post-production formalities and the first copy was submitted to the Censor Board for certification. The board after watching the film awarded 'U/A' certificate. According to the director, the story of the film revolves around an out and out Telugu girl, who has an ambition in her life and the struggles faced by the girl while trying to achieve the goal.Vandemataram Srinivas scored music for the flick.

Mahesh Babu, Puri Jagannadh and the producer, Venkat, aside, the launch function saw the presence of SS Thaman (music director of the movie), Shyam K Naidu and others. Atchi Reddy was also present. It is said that the entire movie will be shot in Mumbai. Since the film is about how the hero clinches deals using the power of bullet and the film has the mafia element, Puri had searched for distinct locales in the city recently. The search is finally over, and with Mahesh done with Dookudu, everything is set for the commencement of Businessman.
