Director, Producer, writer, actor and politician Dasari Narayana Rao who celebrates his birthday with awards to film personalities, has declared 'Mahanati Savitri' national award for the year 2010 to yesteryear actress Jamuna. Rs 2 lakh and a citation will be given to Jamuna on eve of Dasari Narayana Rao's birthday this week. Film maker Tammareddy Bharadwaja who is the chairman of Dasari Birthday celebrations committee, announced Best New Film director award to Nandini Reddy of 'Ala Modalaindi'.
She will take away a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and citation along with the award. P Sarath Kumar has been declared the best film journalist and Kumara Swamy is named as best still photographer by the Dasari Birthday celebrations committee.Dasari is all set to also start a charitable organisation by the name 'Needa' (shadow) on April 4th when he celebrates his birthday. Huge turn out of actors, politicians and film personalities is expected at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad where the birthday will be celebrated."33 poor students will be given scholarships and the statue of Mahanati Savitri will also be unvieled soon.We also plan to run a old age home through Dasari's 'Needa' trust" Tammareddy informed.
