Manchu Manoj’s dream project Vuu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara is set for its launch on 6th June. The movie is a period film set in 19th and 20th century. Manoj confesses that the unit members are working hard on this film and are designing huge sets for the project. He further added that Vuu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara is being made on par with international standards.

Deeksha Seth has been roped in for the female lead role and Bala Krishna is expected to play a vital role in the film. Manoj’s sister Lakshmi Prasanna is producing the film on Lakshmi Prasanna pictures banner while Mohan Babu will present the film.

Yesteryear actress Meena has clarified that she is not going to come back to films anytime soon. News broke out that she would act as mother in law of Ramcharan in his upcoming film. However, Meena clarified that she is not acting in that movie. "I am not coming back to films anytime soon. I am married and I am happy taking care of my five month old baby Nainika. I have a lot of responsibilites and can't leave them for acting. I don't know about future but now I am not acting for sure" Meena said in Chennai. Rumour was that she will act as mother of Samantha in V V Vinayak's next film with Ramcharan as the hero.

Whats ironical these days is most actors and star directors are facing troubles from their own managers.

Sources say actor Vishnu Manchu lost Rs 2 crore thanks to financial mismanagement by his childhood friend and production designer Ashok Kumar Raju. Apparently Ashok who managed the finances of Vishnu's 'Vasthadu Naa Raju' escalated bills and even took commissions from vendors enhancing the project estimation by Rs 2 crore. No sooner than Vishnu got to know of it, he fired him. Ashok now has joined producer Dil Raju's camp."I got to know of it and I was shocked. He was my childhood friend. It was tough for me to do it but had to ask him to leave" Vishnu said, not willing to divulge more on the topic.

Ditto with Puri Jagannath's manager Krishna who reportedly swindled off crores of rupees leaving the director in debts. Krishna was supposedly the right hand man of Puri and the director trusted him with crores of rupees. As Puri washed his hands off Krishna, he went and joined NTR Junior as his manager. Actor Raja Raveendra was almost like a shadow of Mass hero Raviteja. Any director who wanted to make a film with Raviteja had to go through Raja Raveendra. Last heard, he made the most of Raviteja's trust and earned a bomb. Besides, he bad mouthed Ravi leaving the actor with no option but to get rid of him. Raja Raveendra now believably handles Manchu Manoj's dates.

Apparently actor Bramhaji has replaced Raja Raveendra as Raviteja's right hand man. Ditto with several actresses who have changed their managers as they realise the financial irregularities with their accounts. Industry sources say a former manager of actress Richa Gangopadhyay ruined her career with wrong suggestions to an extent that she doesn't have a single movie in Telugu now.

"Sorry fact is that this industry is a very small world. These managers leave one star and join the other. But offlate once they are branded for financial irregularity, they are no more hired to look after budgets. They are given some other job like press releations or publicity design et al where money is not involved" said a director in Tollywood.

Ramgopal Varma's controversial production venture Bejawada Rowdilu has now made people of Vijayawada opt for hunger strike against its title. A committee from Vijayawada Old city development has commenced a hunger strike on Monday at Patha Basti and Kaleswar Rao Market in Vijayawada as RGV was reluctant to change the title of the film. The committee members claim that ‘Bejawada Rowdilu’ title is conveying wrong impression to the people which might damage the city’s image.They demanded to change the title of the film immediately and added further that the hunger strike will not be stopped until and unless Varma changes the title. We are yet to see how RGV handles this issue…

But this seems to have stirred another idea for noted music composer, Ismail Darbar.He who has contributed great songs to the Bollywood film industry, while speaking to a media firm alleged that A R Rahman bought the Oscar Award by bribing the jury! He expressed that the music of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is not worthy of prestigious awards and there is no Oscar material about it.

He added that, other films of Rahman’s were worthy of such awards but definitely not this, and that he is sure that the award has been bought by Rahman. When every body wants Mahesh Babu to get out from the influence of ‘Pokiri’, he seems to have still struck deep into that mania. Post ‘Pokiri’ continuous failures should have made him learn new lessons. Unfortunately that is not the case and first teaser of ‘Dookudu’ released into the market yesterday shows the punch dialogue of Mahesh as ‘Mind Lo Fix Ayithe Blind Gaa Yelli Pothaa.’

Given the kind of attention a film from Prince usually attracts, it is time for Super Star to take enough care in living up to their expectations. ‘Dookudu’ being known as a cop story and with punches looking similar to ‘Pokiri,’ obviously Fans are coming under extra tension as why is Mahesh doing this again and again? What is that great logic that made Mahesh to fix his mind and become blind in accepting these kinds of dialogues which have lost the fad in public? Wish that ‘Dookudu’ is not the same run of mill old story lines.

Says Rajini Babu, who has released on the internet a photograph of he and his friends standing in front of the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, where the Superstar is admitted, “We saw Thalaivar and even had an opportunity to talk to his wife and daughter.”“As soon as we came to know that Thalaivar is coming to Singapore for rest and treatment, we rushed to the airport to see him.

But he was taken out through a different exit,” he says. Rajini Babu adds: “Determined to have a glimpse of Thalaivar, we somehow managed to gain entry into the hospital where we saw Rajini taking rest in a special ward (Royal Suite). He was seen with a little beard. “When we tried to take photographs, Thalaivar’s wife Latha and daughter Soundarya Ashwin came out and requested us not to do so and assured that Thalaivar is fine and will return India soon.”

RR Makers are said to have acquire the rights for a fancy price of 27 Crores. B.V.S.N Prasad is producing the film on Sri Venkatestwara Cine Chitra banner and the movie is lasted for a release in September. Even as there were reports that Rajinikanth would go to London soon, a fresh report this morning claimed that the Superstar of Tamil cinema will be flying to Singapore tonight for further treatment. 'The 61-year-old actor is scheduled to fly by Singapore Airlines and will be accompanied by his family members', an agency report said, quoting sources at the airport in Chennai.

Rajini was first hospitalised on the first day of the shoot of 'Rana' last month. He was discharged from the hospital on the same day only to be readmitted after a week. On May 13, he was once again hospitalised, this time at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Porur.

Just a couple of hours back, there has been news that Vijayawada police has cancelled the permission for the shooting of Ram Gopal Varma's Bezawada Rowdylu following an appeal by a group of lawyers from the city. Bezawada Rowdylu has hit the controversy as the welfare organizations alleged RGV was trying to portray the conflicts that took place in Vijayawada, between two rivalry groups in 1980s that might now re-ignite the caste wars.

However, Ram Gopal Varma has released a press note in the afternoon stating that the first schedule of Bejawada Rowdilu has been wrapped up and so the unit members have returned back to Hyderabad. "We have wrapped up the first schedule in the Vijayawada and so moved to Hyderabad for filming the new schedules as the earlier designed plan. The entire film will be completed by August and the film will hit the screens for Dussera," said RGV.Bejawada Rowdilu has Naga Chaitanya playing the lead role and Vivek, a debutant is wielding the megaphone.

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's wife and former actress Namrata Shirodkar filed a case against her interior designer cum carpenter in Jubilee Hills police station.Namrata alleged that her interior designer cum carpentar, Farhad Bin Ali from Classic Hardware Shop in the city cheated her by doing a shoddy job at home and hasn't even repaid her money which was due to her. According to sources from Police station,Namrata alleged in her case that Farhan who was hired to do glass work in her newly built bungalow in Filmnagar was paid Rs 8.5 lakh as advance.But since he was delaying the work and Namrata was unhappy with him, she fired him.She asked him to deduct Rs 3.65 lakh towards his charges until then and repay the rest of the amount from the advance she had given him.Ali gave her a cheque for Rs 4.63 lakh but it bounced.

After Namrata warned him, he gave her another cheque for Rs 2.25 lakh which also bounced. This irritated Namrata further. As a last chance, he gave her another cheque from Axis bank and that too bounced. Angry with his attitude, Namrata filed a cheque bouncing case against him in the court and Jubilee hills cops registered a case against him."Namrata's PA Mahesh Achari came and lodged the complaint on her behalf four days ago. We registered a case under sections 420 of IPC. It is a civil case and there is very little we police can do about it. We might close the case soon" Inspector of Jubilee Hills police station Mr Narsing Rao told this correspondent.
