Tollywood which suffered a strike in December last year as employees and producers stopped film shootings are at loggerheads again.AP Film Employees federation has issued strike notice to Telugu film producers' council as they failed to revise their pay this month.AP Film employees federation has been demanding Producers' council to increase their pay since the past three months.In December, when there was a fight between stunt masters that led to major logjam in film industry that led to a strike by employees and producers, employees demanded a pay hike.But producers then assured them a pay hike in March.However, they failed to keep this promise.
AP Film employees federation has served strike notice to Producers' council on April 1st demanding a pay hike failing which they will go on strike from April 8th.Since producers told employees that they will pay them only on the basis of the guidelines issued by South Indian film chamber of commerce,they can't hike the pay now, it looks like another strike is awaited.There is a emergency meeting of Telugu film producers council today, i.e Thursday at AP Film chamber of commerce to discuss the strike notice.If the producers are firm and are not willing to hike their pay, employees won't attend film shootings from Friday.The film industry which suffered huge losses due to 35 day strike in December last year is sure to face major blow if the strike occurs again.
