The popular comedian of yesteryears Rajababu’s bronze statue would be unveiled in Rajahmundry very soon.This was disclosed by popular film artiste and producer Muralmohan at Dasari Narayana Rao’s office at a media briefing.Besides Muralimohan, AVS, Chalapati Rao, Chittibabu and Anant also participated in the press meet.Speaking on the occasion, Muralimohan says, ‘My debut film is ‘Jagame Maya’ and Rajababu also played in the movie. He encourage me in all respects.I have good friendly relationship with him. He passed away and it is almost 27 years by now. To mark the occasion, we have decided to erect his statue in his native place Rajahmundry. Dr Dasari Narayana Rao would unveil the statue at 9.30 am on April 9.
We are planning to felicitate 75 comedians at a function to be held at Rajahmundry Arts College in the evening on the same day. We are also planning to conduct a commemoration meet of the late EVV Satyanarayana and Mullapudi Venkata Ramana.Last year, we had unveiled the statue of Shobhanbabu and Rajababu statue would also be erected at the same place. The municipality had given the necessary permission for the purpose.Several local political leaders and industrialists are cooperating in this regard.
