Manirathnam To Direct Mahesh Babu? - JustTollywood.com News



Mani Ratnam’s next movie is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular Tamil historical novel Ponniyin Selvan which narrates the life and times of Raja Raja Chola, one of the greatest kings in South Indian history.Pre-production works are now in progress.This historical movie to be made in Tamil and Telugu will be produced by Kalanidhi Maran of Sun Pictures who recently made the Rajinikanth starrer Robo (Enthiran) directed by Shankar. Tamil writer Jayamohan will pen the dialogues. Ilayaraaja composes the music for the film.The film is expected to cost about Rs 200 crore.Director Mani Ratnam is said to be finalising Mahesh Babu and Vikram to play the main roles, though it is not clear who will play Raja Raja Chola.
