This is for all those people who have tickled us over time. This is a new award being instituted by Gemini Television to honor comedians of Telugu cinema. Named as Gemini Comedy Film Awards, the awards will be given exclusively to comedians in Telugu cinema. A fact to be pointed here is, Telugu film industry is the only film industry in India with most number of comedians.
There will be a decent number of categories like the Best Comedian – Male and Female, Best Comedy Writer, Best Comedy Director and Best Comedy Film, etc
There have been complaints from senior actors and comedians about an exclusive award for comedians. Even at the national level, a lot of proposals were made but nothing has come to shape. This is the first time ever, a dedicated awards ceremony for comedians is being held! We’ve always had the best of laughs thanks to all the comedians in our Telugu film industry! It’s time to honour them, thanks to Gemini TV!
