Varudu Movie Review (Rating: 3/10) - JustTollywood.com News

Rating: 3/10

In modern times do we have the guts to retell Ramayana? That is what Gunasekhar has tried in this movie. The movie opens slowly, takes you around the traditions of our culture. It tries to lift your mood. Varudu, wants an arranged marriage before he leaves to US for a job. The marriage of the parents is a love marriage. They invite their whole family and start searching for a vadhuvu. With this whole ensemble the director tries to get the audience involved. Vadhuvu is searched and the marriage is fixed. Halfway through the marriage, vadhuvu is kidnapped and the rest is hoe varudu gets vadhuvu back.

Gunasekhar is still reaming in the effects of Okkadu, Choodalaniundi. He largely depends on grandeur, leaving the script to make the movie a hit. Can it be done? Production values are good. Back ground score, the set, graphics all are excellent but fail to keep the audience glued to the seat. Audience feel restless through out. Veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, grand father to varudu fails to make an impact as claimed. Ravi kondala Rao, Radhakumari are wasted. Suhasini, Ashish vidyarthi, Nassar are wasted. Rao Ramesh is ok. Sameer and Anitha are ok. Ahuti Prasad is brief. 100 odd families as claimed are just used to tell saamethalu.

The heroine is good. The only impressive scene is the kissing scene. But in a movie around traditions is it worth? On the whole the movie can be forgotten.
