Akkineni's family - The Romantic Heroes of Tollywood - JustTollywood.com News



If we start remembering the romantic entertainers from the Telugu film industry, half of the films we strike have Akkineni’s as heroes in it. Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Akkineni Nagarjuna are known for their romantic love stories and latestly, Naga Chaitanya seems to have taken the throne of their family by grabbing the lover boy image. The family always enjoy a disproportionately large female fan following.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao(ANR), has shaped the new trend of romantic image in the black and white era. He has been the heart-throb of the yesteryears. He was highly popular for his romantic movies. He used to create a romantic feel to the audiences just with striking expressions, dialogue delivery and hardly touching the heroines. His heart wrenching performance in ‘Devdas’ is one such example. ANR has acted in beautiful love stories such as Devdas, Mooga Manasulu, Bharya bharthalu
After ANR, Akkineni Nagarjuna who was launched as ANR’s son has built a romantic hero image. Today, he is known as tollywood’s Manmadhudu. Among the four biggies of the middle era, Nagarjuna is the hero who has done the most love cum romantic entertainers. Nag has bowled the young ladies with his looks and is still maintaining a huge female fan base. His ‘Majnu’ has brought him a tragedy hero image while ‘Geetanjali’ film directed by Maniratnam has brought him the romantic image. His chemistry with the actress has sizzled beautifully on-screen. Later on, he has acted in lot of films with a back drop of love like Janaki Ramudu, Nirnayam, Antham, Varasudu, Criminal etc. His ‘Ninne Pelladatha’ with Tabu showed the beautiful chemistry between the two. His comedy cum romantic entertainer ‘Manmadhudu’ with a tagline ‘He hates women’ turned women loves Nag later. He is the only tollywood hero who has shaken his legs with eight beautiful heroines in just one song (King film).
Akkineni’s family trend seems to be continuing. Naga Chaitanya was launched in the film industry with the film josh. Although Josh was not successful, his second film, ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ has made him a sensational star overnight. Chaitanya’s ‘Ye Maya…’ is a fresh and pure love story with ample romantic elements. His chemistry with Samantha on-screen was awesome. Now, Naga Chaitanya like his father, Nagarjuna, and his grandfather, Nageswara Rao seems to be enjoying the huge female fan following.
