Padmanabham passes away - JustTollywood.com News



The famous movie comedian of the black and white era, BV Padmanabha Rao, who was better known as Padmanabham, breathed his last on February 20. He was keeping good health until the last breath. A star comedian during the era, he acted in more than 400 films, including some of the most famous ones in his kitty like Maya Lokam and Pathala Bhairavi.
Mere mention of his name used to evoke laughter and he was the favourite of millions of cine goers in those days. Born in Kadapa's district's Simhadripuram on August 20, 1931 Padmanabham was an actor, producer as well as a two-time director (Kathanayika Molla and Sri Rama Katha).
His roles in many of the blockbusters he acted in were hugely appreciated by critics and laymen alike. Always exuding healthy smile on his face, he acted in immortal characters like Tenali Ramakrishna and Maryada Ramanna.
He shared screen space with the legends of his time and became a comedian to reckon with in the Telugu film industry. A practitioner of yoga, he never fell ill, is what his aides aver. He was last seen in Chakram (2005).
