'Shankarabaranam' screened at IFFI - JustTollywood.com News

K. Vishwanath's cream of the crop Shankarabaranam was screened at the 40th International Film Festival of India being held in Goa, amid much applause from the audience, which included well-versed film critics, filmmakers and a host of intellectuals from a cross-section of the society.
The Telugu film Shankarabharanam (meaning Shankara's adornment) was released in the year 1979. A true musical that celebrated the great Indian classical music, it was a trend setter in every sense of the term. It did not get distributors in the beginning, but went on to create records of sorts in its box office collections on mere mouth publicity.
It is a great honour that the organisers at IFFI decided to screen Shankarabharanam that is a fine example of impeccable film making. It marked the entry of J V Somayajulu (in the role of a music maestro), who went on to become a busy artiste for more than a decade. It also starred Chandra Mohan and Manju in key roles.
