Attack on Varudu's unit foiled - JustTollywood.com News

Allu Arjun and Gunasekhar were filming action sequences for their film Varudu, at Moosapet in Hyderabad, when T-activists belonging to TSF and NSUI tried to barge their way into the shooting spot and disrupt the shooting. However, their bid was foiled by the Kukatpally police. The schedule got affected, albeit for some time.
The activists, who identified themselves with the aforementioned unions, came out in shoals of 50-100, and shouted loud slogans in favour of Telangana. When the situation grew tense, the police were called in.
This is the second time that Varudu's shooting has been disrupted by T-activists. The action sequences were being shot under the supervision of Shiva, when the incident took place. There were 30 other junior artistes who were participating in the schedule. Ahuthi Prasad was also seen at the spot.
The police reportedly chased the activists, who seemed to go berserk, up to a good distance. Later, 10 of them, who led the act, were taken into police custody.

Geetha Arts buys Leader's rights - JustTollywood.com News

It is learnt that Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts has bought the distribution and release rights of Shekar Kammula's Leader, set to release on the 11th. It is known that the film is produced by the famous Chennai-based film production banner AVM and is one of the most popular films in the fray. It has generated great amount of curiosity among the urbanites and young audiences and is expected to get openings, thanks to the name of Mr. Kammula associated with it.
A few days ahead of its release, Geetha Arts, which has of late got into the business of distributing popular releases (Puli's rights has been bought for a whopping Rs. 60 cr. from Singanamala Naidu), has bought the rights of this much-awaited socio-political caper. Though the rate at which the rights has been bought is not yet known, it is understood that the deal is final.
The film stars Daggubati Rana, a childhood friend of Ram Charan Tej and Arjun-Sirish's buddy. The film has been promoted, primarily by Rana himself, with the lad consciously making appearances on television. In a way, Geetha Arts' work has been made easy by Rana who is eagerly promoting his debut film.
However, the banner wants to do it on a bigger scale. It might perk up the film's publicity in the coming days.Let's see if AVM and Geetha Arts win together in their new alliance.

'High School' not erotic - JustTollywood.com News

Narasimha Nandi's next film High School is not an erotic caper, according to the director. The film stars Kiran Rathod in the role of a software engineer and Karthik as a 10th standard student.The film is slated for a release by the end of this month. Clarifying that the film is not voyeuristic and that it is coming with a message, Nandi has said that High School has been given 'A' certificate by the Censor.
"Many are thinking that the film is about the love track of a student and his teacher. But it is not. Our film is telling a message," he said. Mr. Nandi's film 1940 Lo Oka Vooru has won the National Film Award for Best Regional Film recently.
High School is produced by Mallanna. The unit spoke at a press briefing and said that it was coming with a significant message. Let's see if Mr. Nandi delivers the message and gets critical appreciation, just as he did with his first film.

Raja Sekhar's next film will be Comrade, the regular shooting of which will begin after Siva Rathri. The film will see him play an idealistic character. According to Krishna Kanneganti, the director of the film, the audience will see a Gurujada, Sri Sri and Arudhra in him.
Speaking to the Raja Sekhar said that his character comrade, will be like a friend. To be produced by Dammalapati Srinivasa Rao, who is producing the film under the banner of Sai Krishna Productions, the film has dialogue by Paruchuri Brothers, while it will be presented by Sri Dhanalakshmi Productions. Comrade will be executive-produced by Sridhar Reddy and Sudarshan Reddy.
According to the actor, the film is directed at the youth. "Not only has it got a powerful story, but even a good message," he says.Details of other cast and crew members are yet to be finalized. Going by the title, you can expect the film to go with a political theme.

Junior NTR's Sakthi team is currently filming in Jaipur. A team of 300 have reached the city and will film crucial scenes and a song for 15 days, starting from the 6th.The film stars Ileana, as the romantic interest of NTR. It has dialogue by Satyanand and music is by Mani Sharma. Veturi, Seetharama Sastry, Ramajogayya Sastry are the lyricists. Produced by Ashwini Dutt, it has story, screenplay and direction by Meher Ramesh of Kanthri fame.
The film was recently launched at the famous Golf Court near Golconda in Hyderabad. Meher Ramesh first directed NTR for his film 'Kanthri', which did an average business at the box office. The second film in their combination will go on the floors for a regular shoot soon.

The buzz is that Shekar Kammula is planning to arrange a special screening for Rahul Gandhi, of his latest offering Leader. The film is set to release on the 11th. As is well-known, the film is about a youngster who makes it big in politics.
The character of an idealistic politician is played by Daggubati Rana. Produced by AVM, the film has been made as a full-fledged political caper. A rare one of its kind in Telugu, it is perhaps the first mainstream political caper in Telugu after a long time. More important, politician's role is being played by the film's protagonist, who is, important again, a youngster.
Rana's character has been inspired by a host of great world leaders like JF Kennedy, as per the actor himself. In an interview to a news channel, Rana has said that the character has been fashioned around some Indian politicians like Rajiv Gandhi too.

Two youths, Srinivas Reddy and Shiva, have claimed to be the original story-writers of Kammula's forthcoming flick Leader and last year's hit film Bumper Offer. The controversy is seen as the continuation of the Magadheera and Adurs sagas, one of which has its claimant in a novelist, who has even warned the producers to approach the court.
Srinivas Reddy has reportedly alleged Amma Rajasekhar to have sold off his story idea to Puri Jagannadh. The film was made as Bumper Offer, according to him. He has gone on a fasting in front of the Writers' Association building in the city. However, Raja Sekhar has denied the allegations and said that Bumper.. was brain child.
On the other hand, the yet-to-be-released Leader has a claimant in Shiva, a youth, who says that the film is about a former Chief Minister's son occupying the gaddi. It is learnt Shiva is planning to approach the court.Films landing up in controversies of plagiarism is not new. However, this time, we see big flicks like Magadheera, Leader and Bumper Offer in the midst of them.
