Daruvu team faces Telangana "daruvu" - JustTollywood.com News

A'Mass Maharaja' film has faced the sound of Telanganavadis one more time. The shooting of Daruvu, taking place at a private hospital in the Tarnaka area (Hyderabad) was forcibly stopped by a cabal of agitators, who stormed the location and destroyed a spot light. Following which the makers of 'Sound of Mass' had to leave the spot. That the area is abutted by Osmania University was the reason why the protestors came to know about the shoot and easily reached the location. No kerfuffle has been reported. Since the venue was a hospital, the brouhaha was at its minimum, reports indicate. This is a one-off event reported in a long time. It is known that the films of many big stars were disrupted in the past.

Size zero brings luck to Parvathi Melton - JustTollywood.com News

What a film with Pawan Kalyan (read Jalsa) could not give her, a svelte look (size zero to be specific) has brought Parvathi Melton good luck. It has landed her in two films. If one is with Sairam Shankar (Yamoha Yamaha), the other other is a very big project - Ravikumar Chavali's Kalki, starring Balakrishna. Well, unlike in the first film, she is only one of the three divas in the latter. Nevertheless, it is a shot in the arm for her.

It may be noted that Jalsa was expected to catapult her to the starry orbit, but much of the limelight was cornered by her co-star, Ileana. The Vennela actress went a bit bold in Vishnu Babu's Game, which did not give her the push. Despite the lissome figure and voluptuous looks, Parvathi has fallen behind in the race. She needs a hit at this moment. The title number in Dookudu, where she shook legs with Mahesh Babu, was a top notch item song of the year 2011. In year 2012, with two releases in the offing, hope Parvathi will make it like never before.

Ravi teja's Nippu Movie Review - JustTollywood.com News

'Nippu' Review: No Fire, Only Smoke by :greatandhra.com Rating:2/5

Nippu’, the film that’s publicized as the one that is coming from three friends YVS, Guna Sekhar and Ravi Teja has hit the screens today. Let us see how it entertains the audience.

Story:
An okay tale, the story begins with Surya (Ravi Teja) who owns a gym centre and he also has a good friend Sri (Sriram). Surya is in love with his friend’s sister Meghna (Deeksha) and after some cat and mouse games, she also falls in love. After a while, Sri goes to Saudi for job and there he falls in love with Vaishnavi (Bhavana). The story takes a turn when Surya goes to Saudi to celebrate the birthday of Sri and is shocked when the Saudi police arrest Sri on charges of murdering Vaishnavi. He is sentenced to death. Now, the only way for Surya is to get the signature from Vaishnavi’s parents to acquit Sri. And that happens to be Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawath), the bad guy whom Surya has been fighting all along. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Ravi Teja gave his hundred percent with extra energy and sharp dialogue delivery. Usually he shoulders all his films but he didn’t have that scope due to screenplay errors.Deeksha Seth is yet to improve on her acting. Though she has good height, she must tone up her body if she is planning for a long career as a heroine. She suits Ravi Teja’s height which is the saving factor. Rajendra Prasad was elegant and effective. His versatility in expressions and emotions always makes a strong presence onscreen. He was good. Sriram was handsome as usual and he delivers to the required level. Pradeep Rawath was good and evil enough. Bhavana was brief but cute. Brahmanandam brought few smiles. Supreeth was standard. Krishnudu, Brahmaji, Mukul Dev, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharmavarapu and others were there to fill the gaps.

Highlights:

  • Cinematography
  • Interval bang
  • Ravi Teja’s performance

Drawbacks:

  • Weak screenplay
  • Outdated fights
  • Slow pace

Analysis: The story line of Nippu is very simple: what the hero does to save his friend who is battling for his life. There is absolutely no excitement in the storyline and the director has to put in a lot of hard work to make a film out of it. It is really a tight rope walking for the director. Despite his best efforts, there is no guarantee that this routine story would fetch any success. Instead of taking a lot of care to make a film with this silly storyline, Gunasekhar made a mess of it with his grossly ill-planned script. In the first half, one would feel as it one is watching a Japanese or Korean film without sub-titles.Given the fact that it has noted names like Gunasekhar and Ravi Teja, the expectations ran high. However, it appears that Guna Sekhar is yet to come out of his shell. Though he was careful in not going overboard with the budget his brilliance as a director was missing barring the pre-interval twist.

For any film to be successful, the screenplay is main oxygen. And that failed to work here. Same goes with the dialogues. They ended up being verbose during key moments. The production values were generous but though the money was being seen, it didn’t have that kind of content to justify. The key scenes were unable to deliver the depth. For instance, Pradeep Rawath’s wife gets realization and wants to help Ravi Teja but all it takes is just 5 seconds.
First half goes with back and forth narration and the real story is missing, it took a while for the audience to realize that a flashback episode was happening. Overall, the film runs on a flimsy storyline, weak execution and most of the focus was on the presentation than filling it with substance. At one point, one begins to wonder whether it is the same Guna Sekhar who made films like ‘Choodalani Vundhi’ ‘Okkadu’ etc.Setting aside the commercial calculations of the film, if one were to go by the content part of it, the title “Nippu” suits the film. The audiences should thank their stars, as the film has been released before the onset of summer. Had it been released in mid-summer, it would have been a frying-pan-to-fire experience for the audiences!

At the box office, the film will have decent openings but the presence of ‘Love Failure’ and the arrival of ‘Poola Rangadu’ is sure to cause a big dent.

Bottom line: No big flames

Bharatstudent verdict: Not that hot!! by Bharatstudent.com Rating:2.5/5

Story: A regular tale, the story begins with Surya (Ravi Teja) who runs a gym centre. He is in love with Meghana (deeksha) and her brother Sriram (sriram) happens to be a good friend of Surya. On the other hand, Surya enters into few tiffs with the local don Raja Goud (pradeep rawath) and Raja is waiting for a chance to take revenge. The story takes a turn when Surya goes to Saudi to be part of the birthday celebrations of Sriram who goes there for job. However, the Saudi police arrest Sriram on charges of murdering Vaishnavi (bhavana). Who is Vaishnavi? How does Surya deal with this problem. All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was pleasant, the narrative was not that catchy. The dialogues were good at places and had a wit of their own. The script was average but screenplay faltered at few places. Background score was energetic but songs were not that special. Cinematography was appealing. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was colorful and natural. Ravi Teja has come up with the bubbly performance and was all over the film, Deeksha Seth looks glamorous but acting is still weak. Rajendra Prasad was okay. Sriram looks handsome and does his bit as required. Brahmi gave few smiles. Pradeep Rawath was good. Brahmaji, Jayaprakash Reddy, Krishnudu, Dharmavarpu added in their own way.

Conclusion: The film came across with a good level of expectations given the names involved but then there was nothing different from the regular plotlines. While the first half goes on a lighter mode with elements of comedy and romance, it is the interval bang which brings some surprise. The second half goes about in a rather slow mode and there were not enough twists or intense scenes to keep the audience engaged. Overall, the film will have good openings due to the branded names but this could be an average to below average grosser at the box office.

Final Word:
Nippu is a routine film with too many fights and weak script. Only Raviteja is the saving grace and it is highly doubtful for him to save this film from sinking at the box office.

Story:Surya (Raviteja) and Sriram (Sriram) are close friends. Sriram faces death sentence in Saudi Arabia, as they believe that he has killed his lover Vaishnavi (Bhavana). But the fact is Vaishnavi accidentally dies by falling from the roof top. Now Surya has a task on hands. He has to get a letter from Vaishnavi’s parents to save his friend from death sentence. Surya comes to know that Vaishnavi is the daughter of Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawath), who has been waiting to take revenge on Surya as he rubbed him on the wrong side. Surya realizes that convincing Raja to sign the papers is not easy. There is another person who is against Raja. He is Shankar Kaka (Mukul Dev). Surya join hands with him and gives a deadly blow to Raja. What happens next is the rest of the story.

Analysis:Nippu doesn’t boast of great script. The storyline is tad ordinary. There is nothing sparkling or startling about the subject. We have seen such mindless action films many a time. So the director should have come up with an interesting screenplay to keep the audience glued.Sadly, that didn’t happen as the screenplay is pretty bad right from the word go. None of the scenes are connected or interlinked. This is perhaps the weakest film among Gunasekhar’s movies in terms of screenplay. First half of the film is pretty boring and tests your patience.Things get bit interesting at the start of the second half and there are few funny scenes between Raviteja and Brahmanandam in this part. But Gunasekhar failed to maintain the same momentum and carry it until the climax. Second half of second half is lengthy and gets on to your nerves.Too many action episodes and too much fuss about nothing make Nippu unbearable. The track on Deesksha Seth is not properly handled. Even Raviteja fails to shoulder the film this time.

Performances:Ever energetic Raviteja looked uninterested in this movie. He simply sleep walked through the character. His usual brand of comic timing is missing too. At times he tried his best to lift the spirits. His combination scenes with Brahmanandam are okay to some extent. Deesksha Seth is cute. But she needs to learn how to act. She failed to get the basic expressions right which is not a good sign for an upcoming actress. Rajendra Prasad is fine in his limited role. Sriram is just okay. Pradeep Rawath is usual. Brahmanandam’s presence is felt. Mukul Dev is alright. Brahmaji and others did their best as per the script and characterizations.

Technicalities:Thaman’s music is a big letdown. He has been in terrific form in the recent past and Nippu comes as a shocker from the in form music director. Background score is ordinary too. Cinematography is topnotch and Production values are very good. Editing is not up to the mark. Dialogues are average.Gunasekhar has once again disappointed with a poor script and bad direction. He is yet to hit the form and Nippu will further harm his reputation. Gunasekhar should concentrate on the script as he still has that in him to make a complete action entertainer. Accepting stories from other writers may help him to get back to pre Okkadu days.

Dammu audio for Ugadi - JustTollywood.com News

Producer Alexander Vallabhi has announced that the audio of his film Dammu will be released for Ugadi (March 23). The film has music by MM Keeravani. Directed by Boyapathi Sreenu, the film is touted to be an action-filled drama."You will watch NTR's dammu in a new light. We are exploring a new dimension of his acting prowess. This film has many mass elements." Well, what is the hero's character in the film about?

The makers say that guts doesn't mean bashing up a hundred baddies. Breaking the limbs of the villains is heroic yes, but it is not enough. A true man of guts should be able to stand up to the invasive might of a hundred people. He should be willing and ready to face the problems for the sake of those who look up to him as their hero. This forms the crux of the character NTR is playing in this April release. Starring Trisha and Karthika, the film boasts of some traditional dance moves by the Young Tiger.

"Biggest sensation" script for Pawan kalyan by Puri ! - JustTollywood.com News

BVS Ravi, a Puri Jagannadh colleague, describes Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu as a super hit script. He shared the view on Twitter yesterday that the story has all the trappings of a "biggest sensation."In this film which will go on the floors in May, Pawan is playing a journalist, Rambabu, while who is Ganga is suspense for now. With the director and the hero teaming up after a long hiatus of nearly 12 years, expectations on the film are naturally high.
The news is that PJ wrapped up writing the first half yesterday. Whether Puri is going to make a satire or a message-oriented film is not known. What is certain is that he will take pot shots at the media and might even pooh-pooh some real-life media men in this one. With Pawan's attitude and Puri's style, Cameraman.. is might become crazier than Businessman.

Why Tamanna refused Jeeva's film? - JustTollywood.com News

When it was almost confirmed that Tamanna would share the screen space with Jeeva in one of his forthcoming films, things failed to materialize and it was made clear that a hunt was on for another heroine.Explaining the reason, Tamanna says, "It is purely a professional decision. I was already committed to do three projects in Telugu and hence I had no other option than turning down Jiiva's film. There are no other reasons."On a charge that she is giving importance to Telugu films alone, Tamannah says, "I refute it. I will sure act in Tamil movies once I complete my commitments in Tollywood. How can I say no to Kollywood which has given me so much name and fame?" In Telugu, Tamannah is currently part of 'Racha' opposite Ramcharan Teja, 'Rebel' opposite Prabhas and a romantic entertainer with young actor Ram. "All the three films are so interesting. Hence I signed them," she says.

Sid hopes for a definite hit in 2012 - JustTollywood.com News

Success has eluded Siddharth for long now. It was in 2006 that he last delivered a big hit. Not that Aata, Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam and the recent one, Oh My Friend, were not good films, but they were not definite hits in terms of BO run. In fact, all the three, especially KIKK and OMF were critically-acclaimed, but the audience response to them was warm.

Year 2012, Sid earnestly hopes, will be very different. Indeed, he has a case to make. Besides the soon-to-be-released Love Failure, he has signed a film with Nandini Reddy as director. This untitled film has many positives going for it. For one, it stars Samantha, who is considered to be the 'Golden Girl', thanks to her image of striking luck with film after film. For another, producer Bellamkonda Suresh is in full form with all the right choices (as evidenced by films from Kanchana to the recent Bodyguard). Above all, Sid can rely on the talent of Nandini, who might well repeat Ala Modalaindi's success.

The chocolate boy has always made the right choices, barring a Bava or Striker, but success has somehow shown him cold shoulder. If even the good ones had difficulty to break-even, what was more unfortunate was the fact that his performances have often gone unnoticed. For example, his OMF act, which is perhaps the most underrated performance of the year 2011.

Acting in smoking scenes: Mahesh's take - JustTollywood.com News

Mahesh used to smoke before he read 'Easy Ways To Quit Smoking'. The book brought reform in him and he was never to puff a cigar."I have stopped doing smoking scenes in my films. I don't subscribe to the argument that it is okay to act in a smoking scene if the script so demanded", the actor has been quoted as saying by a Telugu daily. In his interview to the daily, he said that it will be good if top heroes restrain themselves from acting in such scenes. His contention is that fans will be easily influenced by their favourite actor's on-screen behaviour.

Mahesh indeed makes a point. It is not unusual to see those advocating against depiction of smoking scenes on screen say that top stars become the harbingers of harmful fads in youngsters. Prince's off-screen behaviour has been marked by a sense of discipline and decorum, which has won for him many fans. In his latest film, however, his character glorifies Mafia takeover of the country and advocates Mafia-ism as the elixir of crime; but that's a different matter altogether.
